Problem
How do we reduce geohash extraction time and democratize the workflow so any team can run it without GIS skills? Extracting geohash schemas from map polygons was a 2-day manual copy-paste task that depended on GIS specialists.
Approach
- Designed and built a self-service Python and Streamlit tool: upload or draw a polygon, get the geohash schema back.
- Aimed at non-geospatial teams, so no GIS software or GIS knowledge is required.
Results
- Cut a 2-day manual workflow to 3–5 minutes.
- Still in production; presented as a top-5 finalist at an internal Product Ops hackathon.
